About fonts and how to order.
To order say the name Harry @ 100mm high, order.
“H” 100mm.
“arry” 100mm. ( lower case will be the correct size)
The heights are set by the capital from the font designer not the actual height.
Fonts are done by font designers. The designer chooses the heights, over hang and under hang in the design. Some font capitals are at different heights.
EXAMPLE:-
Lucinda calligraphy
If you order this font in 100mm high the (H,T,Y,Vand W) will be 100mm approx and the rest will be approx 80mm.
So if your order the name “Barry” The capital will be 80mm.
But if you order “Harry” The capital will come out at 100mm.
This is how the designer has designed their font.
If you have a text program like MS word you can type in the alphabet and choose your font, then set the height to large and print. Draw a line along the tops of the letters to see what the difference is in the capital heights.
